The John Paul Jones House was built in 1758 and was home to Revolutionary War naval hero John Paul Jones during his visits to Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The house is located just a few blocks from the bustling Market Square area of downtown Portsmouth. Most of the original building and grounds remain intact and give visitors an inside look into the day to day living of that era as well as a detailed history about the life of John Paul Jones.

The house is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 12 to 4 p.m. on Sundays, from June to mid-October. Admission for adults is $5 and children six to fourteen are $2.50; group tours are also available. The beautiful colonial-style house features a historic garden and collections of period furniture, clothing, toys and many other interesting artifacts and documents.
