Jumping Church of Kildemock

Hotels near Jumping Church of Kildemock, Drogheda, Ireland .

In the county of Louth in Ireland, a church wall got a little antsy and decided to jump as legend goes. Near the town of Ardee, the Jumping Church of Kildemoch rests at the moment, but back in 1715, one of the church walls mysteriously relocated 3 feet.

Locals and legend tell how the wall moved in order to exclude the grave of an excommunicated man from the church interior. A storm in 1715 is also cited as a possible reason for the wall's move. However, this reason proves doubtful. Many explain that a storm could not have moved the wall in such a way that it remained so symmetrical as it is now.

The church today sits in small ruins, but tourists venture to the Jumping Church of Kildemoch to see the wall that jumped by natural or paranormal worlds.
