Owned and operated by the city of Juneau, Alaska, the Juneau International Airport is the most important air hubs in the state. It is located some seven miles to the northwest of the downtown area of Juneau, and some 560 miles southeast of the city of Anchorage on the Alaskan Panhandle.

The airport has one paved runway and furthermore has a water strip for seaplanes to land and take off. The airport is primarily used for air taxi and general aviation purposes, though a limited amount of commercial and military aircraft operations take place. The only airlines operating out of the Juneau International Airport are: Alaska Airlines, flying to various destinations within the state; Alaska Seaplane Service; Ward Air; and Wings of Alaska, all offering statewide connections. Currently, the airport terminal is undergoing renovation, which is expected to be brought to a close in the near future.
