The Alaska Experience Center is a planetarium-style movie theater and earthquake exhibit center seated in the middle of downtown Anchorage. The Alaska Experience Center features a wildlife documentary entitled “The Alaska Experience”, exposing viewers to the wonders of the Alaskan wilderness from the comfort of a movie theater. 70 Millimeter footage is projected onto a three-story tall, domed-roof screen that wraps 180-degrees around the stadium seating area, while a DTS digital multichannel audio system captures the sounds of the Alaskan wild. Outside the theater, the Alaska Experience Center Earthquake Exhibit examines the Great Alaska Earthquake of 1964, the most powerful ever recorded in North America, reaching 9.2 on the Richter scale.

The Alaska Experience Center is located at 705 West Sixth Avenue, walking distance from Historical Anchorage City Hall, Anchorage Town Square, and the Alaska State Trooper Museum. Local lodging accommodations include the Anchorage Grand Hotel, Howard Johnson Anchorage, Marriott Anchorage Downtown, and the Historic Anchorage Hotel. The Alaska Experience Center is open every day from 9 A.M to 9 P.M. during the summer, and Noon to 6 P.M. during the winter. Admission is $8 for adults and $4 for kids, and an additional $5 for adults and $4 for kids for the Alaska Experience Earthquake Exhibit.
