Built in 1898, and listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 2000, the Kankakee Amtrak Station (KKI) serves over 15,000 passengers annually from its location in the heart of Kankakee, Illinois. The station is a flag stop for the City of New Orleans Amtrak Line, which stretches from New Orleans to Chicago, and also serves the Illini and Saluki Amtrak Lines.

The northern end of the Kankakee Amtrak Station has also housed the Kankakee Railroad Museum since 1999. Centrally located on Southeast Avenue, the Station is within walking distance of landmarks such as the Paramount Theater, Bird Park, and the West Marycrest Shopping Center.

The Kankakee Amtrak Station is located at 199 Southeast Avenue in downtown Kankakee, and does feature on-site parking, free of charge. The station is open 24 hours per day, seven days per week, and does feature an enclosed waiting room and restrooms.
