Travelers riding the rails into or out of Kansas City will likely find themselves at the city's largest Amtrak station, Union Hall. This Kansas City Amtrak station is a stop on both the Southwest Chief and Missouri River Runner lines, and has been an important stop since long before Amtrak ruled the rails.

Opened in 1914, the station dates back to a time when traveling by train was glamorous. This Kansas City Amtrak station, during its heyday, boasted regal chandeliers and a bustling, cosmopolitan clientele. Many of the building's ornate touches still remain, including those chandeliers and a large clock in the main hall, thanks to a recent restoration designed to bring the station back to its original condition.

This Kansas City Amtrak station provides ticketing at the ticket office or one of the Quik-Trak machines, as well as baggage service, during station hours, which are daily from six in the morning until midnight. There are also restrooms, an ATM, and pay phones on the premises.
