Taiwan Kaohsiung International Airport is a medium-sized facility located 9 kilometers south of the city center of Kaohsiung. The facilities serve commercial flights to mainland China and other destinations in Southeast Asia. Connecting flights to Taoyuan International Airport and international charter flights are also available at Kaohsiung International Airport.

Starting out as domestic terminal, the Kaohsiung airport became an international hub in 1997. It is the second largest airport in Taiwan, accounting for approximately 15% of movements of international passengers in the nation. Its current facilities lie within Hsiaogang area, thus the airport is oftentimes referred to as Hsiaogang airport.

Bus transportation to and from Kaohsiung airport connect to train stations such as Tzouying North Station. Car rentals and taxi services are conveniently available from both domestic and international terminals.

Kaohsiung is situated on the southern section of Taiwan and has a fair amount of attractions to offer on the tourist trail. Visitors can explore lakes, rivers and good museums in the city for sightseeing.
