China has a lot of prefecture-level cities, and one of these is Karamay or Kelamayi, which is located in the northern part of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. The name of the city means ‘black oil’ and it came from the Uyghur language, which has influenced the residents of the city.

Since Karamay is quite small, its main mode of transportation is via China National Highway 217. However, there is a small airport called the Karamay Airport, though the level of activity in the airport is quite limited. In fact, little information can be gathered regarding the presence of the airport.
