Karpathos Island National Airport (KOA) is an domestic airport centered in Karpathos. Karpathos is the second largest island in the Greek Dodecanese islands, which makes KOA a focal point for people that need to get to any of the other islands. This is due to the larger runways that KOA offers and the nearby ferries that can take any traveller to the island of their choosing.

During tourist season KOA does offer some international routes for those that have a desire to experience the warm climate and the authentic Dodecanese culture. This has given validation in the overly developed runways that can cater to the larger airplanes that only come a few months out of the year.

With a population base under ten thousand, the island offers KOA travellers little in accomodations save for a few local locations. These are Greek in design and lack many of the luxyries that the larger airport hotels offer.
