The oceanfront park offers 1.5 miles of beach space as well as a 60-acre freshwater lake. Water sport and activity enthusiasts will find the area perfect for fishing, kayaking, boating and canoeing. Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park is especially known for surfing in the area known as “The Poles.”

Visitors to the park can take part in a number of activities, ranging from hiking to picnicking to simply laying on the beach. Park hours are 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. daily from April to October and 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. from November through March. Those considering hosting events or parties near Jacksonville may want to consider the park for the event-site.
