Katowice International Airport, located in Katowice, Poland, has two terminals, A and B, plus a cargo terminal. The Airport is accessible by car from Katowice city centre. Take the S86 express road following signs for Pryzowice. By bus (www.pkm.katowice.pl), an hourly service runs from Katowice city centre. The bus leaves on the hour from Katowice main railway station and stops near the Qubus Hotel, Novotel and Sosnowiec. It takes approximately 50 minutes from the city to the airport and tickets cost from 5 Euros. Terminal A has destinations to Turkey, Egypt (seasonal service), five cities in the UK, as well as Israel and Ireland. Terminal B has destinations to Germany, Poland, Spain, Brussels, Italy, Norway, France and Sweden. There are two car parks. Car park one adjoins the passenger terminal, whilst car park two is long-stay, for passengers leaving their car for more than 48 hours. Services inside the terminals include a florist, bank, Bureau de Change, bistro and souvenir shop. Terminal B has a 24 hour chemist, a VIP lounge, a 24 hour restaurant, a chapel and an observation deck café. There is also a conference room at the Airport. There are ten car rental services, such as www.Awos.com.pl and www.incar24.pl. Hotel Wilga is two kilometres from the airport, in a quiet, forested area. Ostrava, the third largest city in the Czech Republic is approximately 60 miles from Katowice Airport and is a candidate for the 2015 capital of culture. The main attractions in Ostrava are the Silesian Ostrava Castle, which was built in the thirteenth century and which is an example of Gothic architecture, and the museum of mining.
