Kayseri Airport is also known as Erkilet Airport. It is a military base, with a small passenger and cargo service. The airport is capable of accepting flights from Boeing 747 planes, but it is usually frequented by smaller planes such as the 737 and 757. There are daily flights to Istanbul, as well as services to: Amsterdam, Maastricht, Dusseldorf, Rotterdam, Ercan, Izmir, Gocken, Sivas and Frankfurt. In all 13 airlines use Kayseri Airport.

Kayseri, is an industrial City in central Anatolia and has an old town, containing the Old Bazaar, or Kapali Carsi, which many tourists visit. The city is dwarfed by the Erciyes Mountains to the South, and lies on the ancient silk route. Its inhabitants are known to be entrepreneurial and to have a sound knowledge of business economics. There are many historical monuments and the city is known for its food. Kayseri's High School was one of the oldest in Turkey, and there is a University in the city.

As well as daily flights to Istanbul, Kayseri is linked to the rest of Turkey by rail, and there are regular trains to Ankara, Kars, Armenia and Tatvan. Kayseri's central location is good for car travel. It is three hours to Ankara by car, three to the Mediterranean shore and 45 minutes to Cappadocia.

There are several hotels to choose from, but the Hilton Kayseri has five stars and is located in the Erciyes Mountains to the South of the city, just ten minutes drive from the airport, whilst the Grand Eras kayseri has four stars and is located in Kayseri city centre.
