Kefalonia Island International Airport has regular flights to Athens, Thessaloniki, Vienna, Prevza and Zakynthos, as well as charter destinations : London (Heathrow), Manchester, London (Gatwick), Luton, Newcastle, Bristol, Cardiff and London (Stanstead). The Airport is 9km south of Argostoli, the Capital of Kefalonia.

Argostoli is the capital and administrative centre for Kefalonia. There is a ferry service from here to Zakynthos, Kyllini on the mainland as well as Lixouri. There are no buses to the airport, but taxis are available from the sea front and Plateia Valianos.

There are several hotels and guesthouses within Kefalonia, but the Limanki Hotel is just over three miles from the Airport, in the bay of Argostoli. There is a pool, café and pool bar and a room here costs from 120 Euros. The Ventura is three miles from the Airport overlooking the Ionian Sea, and a room here costs from 70 Euros. There are also family studios available here. The Aigli is situated in the centre of Lefkada, close to the marina and prices start at 105 Euros for a suite with private balcony.
