The Albacore Museum and Park is home to the USS Albacore, the most advanced pre-atomic submarine built by the U.S. Navy. The Albacore is located at 600 Market Street in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The park´s visitor center features a museum with historic artifacts and photographs from the Albacore and is also the starting point of an audio tour of this famous vessel.

In addition to the visitor center, the complex also features a gift shop, restrooms, parking area, and memorial garden, a tribute to all the men and women who served in the U.S. Submarine Service. From Memorial Day to Columbus Day, the park is open every day, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; during the winter the park is open Thursday through Monday, 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children seven to seventeen. The USS Albacore website, http://www.ussalbacore.org/, is the place to go for more visitor information including driving directions and a detailed history of the submarine.
