Kemptown

Kemptown is a small community located in the east of Brighton, East Sussex, England.
The whole area takes its name from Thomas Read Kemp's Kemp Town residential estate of the early 19th Century, but the one-word name now refers to an area larger than the original development and is more correctly King's Cliff.
Many of the houses were still built in the Regency style, although there is also Victorian architecture and some more modern buildings. The community is also home to some of the best bars and pubs in town, as well as the city's thriving 'gay quarter.'
Central Brighton is to the west of the area. Travelling north from Kemptown one finds Queen's Park above the western portion of Kemptown. To the east one can find the Bristol Estate, Craven Hill estate, and Whitehawk, sometimes collectively known as "East Brighton". Another sight within walking distance is Brighton Marina.
The town, widely regarded as somewhat Bohemian, is found along the King's Cliff to Black Rock. The railway lost out to bus traffic because the route from Brighton was longer than the road journey, and was closed to passenger traffic in 1933. In consequence, one can get there by car or bus from Brighton on the number 7 bus route, just one street from the seafront. St. James's Street is the main road from Brighton to Kemptown.
Accommodation is provided by beautiful, conveniently located hotels Brighton Breeze Hotel, Court Craven and Hotel Seattle, 3 or 4 star hotels, rates starting from € 33,10 per night per room.
http://www.kemptown.co.uk/ is the official website of the area.
