Kendall College of Art and Design was founded in 1928 and recently merged in 2000 with Ferris State University, but still retains its individuality with its own programs, facilities, faculty and president. The campus is located in downtown Grand Rapids, an up and coming urban area that has a small-town feel with metropolitan services, attractions and abounding cultural and recreational opportunities.

Kendall College offers undergraduate programs in a variety of subjects including art history, digital media, interior design, painting and photography in addition to master´s programs in fine art, art education and an MBA with a focus on design issues.

The college is housed in an historic building in downtown Grand Rapids and includes facilities such as photo studios, metalworking shops, printmaking equipment and 24-hour access student workspaces.
