Having recently been voted the top attraction in all of Key West by the People's Choice Awards, the Key West Butterfly and Nature Conservatory is a unique and intriguing destination that is housed within a magnificent two-story glass enclosed building that is an architectural triumph of its own. There are roughly 50 to 60 different species of native and imported butterflies that fly around within the building along with a handful of incredibly colored "butterfly-friendly" bird species, creating an extraordinary optical effect that visitors will be sure to remember well after their visit.

The Butterfly and Nature Conservatory also includes a small learning center where visitors can watch the various caterpillar species growing, feeding, and during their cocoon stage. The operations at the conservatory are very environmentally friendly, as most excess production of butterflies is released into the surrounding habitat, thus boosting local biodiversity and species populations.

The conservatory is open to visitors daily between the hours of 9am and 5pm, with ticket sales closing at 4:30pm. The price of admission is $12 for adults and $8.50 for kids.
