Kharkiv International Airport (www.airport.u.nu), also called Kharkov Airport, which is the Russian rather than Ukraine spelling, is situated close to the city of Kharkiv. Ten airlines fly from here to destinations throughout Ukraine and Russia as well as Europe. It offers all facilities expected from a modern airport, such as banking, which is located in the main concourse. The Airport is connected to the city by the trolley service, Line 5 as well as the minibus services 115, 119, 152 and 305. There is an hotel on site, just five minutes walk away.

Kharkiv is the second largest city in the Ukraine and is situated in the northeast of the country. Its main industry is machinery manufacture, such as tanks, and turbines. Getting around the city is easy on the underground high speed Metro system, by bus and trolley bus. Tourists visit the Freedom Square, which is the largest square in Europe and where there is a monument to Lenin. Kharkiv is a university city; the Kharkiv National University is based here, as is the National Technical university and the Kharkiv National Aerospace University, and the city has a high concentration of research institutes.
