A beautiful beach and golf resort, Kiawah Island is a barrier island just off the coast of Charleston, South Carolina. On the Bland is the nationally-acclaimed Kiawah Island Golf Resort. The island's name is derived from the local native Americans who once inhabited it. It was actually the chief of this tribe that led the English colonists to settle the Charles Town landing in 1720.

Today, the island serves as a major golf destination, as it boasts five golf courses. Each of the award-winning courses is relatively narrow, extending from the island's inner woodlands to the oceanfront. With its rich history, breathtaking scenery, and spectacular golf courses, Kiawah Island is a perfectly relaxing getaway spot.
