Located in the southwestern reaches of Anchorage, Alaska, Kincaid Park is one of the more developed and frequented municipal parks in the city. It was created in 1968 and expanded in 1978, resting right on the waterfront of Anchorage with spectacular panoramic views.
The park occupies an area of approximately 1,500 acres, with the entrance located at 9401 West Raspberry Road. There are plenty of outdoor activities to be had in the park during both summer and winter months, and since it is a public park admission is free. In warmer months, joggers, motorcrossers, bikers, dog-trainers and even archers can be seen enjoying the grounds, while during colder times there are plenty of snowshoers, sledders and biathlon competitors.

The park is open to the public every day of the week from 10am through 10pm. There is a chalet with various rooms that is open from 10am to 9:45pm (or 12pm to 5pm on holidays), and the public has the possibility of renting the chalet as well as other parts of the park.
The ease with which wildlife can be seen draws many to the park, where they gaze for moose, lynx, foxes, eagles, bears and porcupines.
The closest lodging to the park is the Quinnat Landing Hotel, though given the park's proximity to the city there are plenty of hotels and other accommodations to be had very close by (within a few miles).
