The Kinepolis Cinema is a movie complex located in Mechelen area, near Bruxelles, Belgium.
It is one of the 23 multiplexes that the Kinepolis Corporation has all over Europe, in France, Spain, Poland and Switzerland. With its cinema complexes, Kinepolis brings relaxation and entertainment for people of all ages. Technology has led in recent years to the development of 3D cinema. Kinepolis Cinema was the first European exhibitor to install a DLP Cinema projector in 2000, thus becoming the market leader in Belgium and a leading player in Europe.
The Kinepolis is the largest multiplex in Brussels, with one of the 25 screens being a giant IMAX presentation. Opened in September 1988, the complex was built as part of the Brupark amusement park which also included the Oceadium (an indoor swimming complex with saunas and solarium), a model village (it includes a series of restaurants, bars, fast food generally accessible with 1 step) and a model Europe set in miniature which can be walked through. All of these are must-see attractions nowadays. In 2008 the Kinepolis was operating only 24 of its screens, as the IMAX screen was closed.
Getting around in Bruxelles is easy because there are tram and bus services and metro lines. The Kinepolis Cinema is situated the Bru-Park in the Heysel area. There is a metro station nearby, Heysel Station.
