The Kings Park Athletics Stadium is an outdoor stadium located in Stamford Hill, Durban, South Africa. It is part of the Kings Park Sporting Precinct, which is the site of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. It is also commercially known as ABSA stadium.

Kings Park is more than a century old. It opened in 1891 and got much-needed renovation by 1990. As it stands, the stadium has a capacity of 50,000 people and has been the venue for many sporting events.

The most notable tournament held in the stadium in recent years was the Rugby World Cup. As one of the host venues, it accommodated group games and the quarter finals between Ireland and France, where the latter won. The South African team also played against France in the stadium during the semi-finals. They won and eventually grabbed the nation’s first Rugby World Cup championship.

Currently the stadium is home of the Sharks, a rugby team competing in the Currie Cup. The Golden Arrows and the Amazulu have also played in the stadium during the Premier Soccer League. Other events have also graced the venue. Michael Jackson’s History World Tour held its last concert in the stadium.
