Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park

Hotels near Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park, Seattle, United States .

Located in the Pioneer Square National Historic District of Seattle, Washington at 319 2nd Avenue South, the Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park is dedicated to preserving historical memory of the massive 1890s Klondike Gold Rush that took place in the Canadian Yukon Territory. Seattle was, in those times, the major staging ground for excursions and treks up to the Yukon, and the Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park Seattle Unit (there are three other units in Skagway, Alaska) is currently housed in an 1889 building that was a point of departure and outfitting for prospectors.

The Seattle branch of the Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park has been open since 1979, though it was briefly closed for remodeling during 2004-2005. The Seattle unit is both a museum and an interpretive center, and admission is free of charge to all members of the public. The hours of operation are 9am-5pm daily.
