Knott's Berry Farm, one of the first theme parks in The United States, is a popular attraction for Californians and tourists alike who are craving some adventure and fun times. The park's history is one of those stories that simply couldn't happen today: a husband-wife team in a sleepy California town start serving chicken dinners to drivers to make ends meet. Dinner comes with pie from their special new variety of Boysenberry, a new road brings even more traffic, and eventually a simple ghost town designed to entertain customers waiting for one of those famous chicken dinners turns into one of the most popular and original theme parks in the country.

That's actually how it happened. The original Ghost Town was further developed and more buildings were added. Eventually, there were log rides and mine rides added, and the park began in earnest.

Today, Knott's Berry Farm has a number of different theme areas, from the original Ghost Town to Fiesta Village, a Mexican-themed area with a number of fun rides, Te Boardwalk, where most of the adrenaline junkies head for the biggest and fastest rollercoasters, and Camp Snoopy, a part of the park with more relaxed rides for younger children.

While the park has grown and changed over the years, locals have continued to visit the park regularly, including during Knott's Halloween Haunt. One of the original haunted houses at a theme park, this annual event draws the most visitors.

A number of hotels are close to Knott's Berry Farm, including Knott's Berry Farm Resort Hotel, which is practically right there. There's a Radisson Suites nearby, as well as a Days Inn, Courtyard by Marriott, and a Super 8.
