Kölner Philharmonie is situated in the city centre of Cologne in Germany. The building is just a 5 minutes walk from Cologne’s main railway station. The Kölner Philharmonie's auditorium is semi-underground, undernearth the Museum Ludwig, which is on top of the embankment before visitors go down to the promenade along the Rhine - the Philharmonie being on the level of the promenade.

The outstanding feature of the Kölner Philharmonie in Germany is its organ, lying just opposite the spiral staircase. Its construction was approved after the architects completed the building plans and Johannes Klais, the renowned organ-maker built this organ. The stops in this organ are calculated in such a way so that the organ can serve as a solo instrument, as an accompaniment and also as a distinguished one opposite a full orchestra.

Kölner Philharmonie, Cologne was established in 14th September, 1986. Within the short period of time of just 20 years it has achieved a position of prominence in Europe’s music scene. This happened because of the variety of the concert performances that are held here and also because of the atmosphere and the beauty of this concert hall which has the design of an amphitheatre.
