Kongeparken( The King's park) is located in scenic surroundings at Algard by the E39, 10 minutes by car from Sandnes and 20 minutes by car from Stavanger. Kongeparken is a large amusement park that has something for absolutely everyone located in the village Ålgård, near Stavanger, Norway. The park opened in 1986 and is themed around teddy bears. Some of the activities include rollercoasters, bumpercars and horse riding.
The park, which is only a short drive from Stavanger city centre, is known for its Freia Chocolate Factory (where children can make their own Norwegian chocolate), the giant Gulliver structure and all its teddy bears.
This year's new attraction is a big dipper equivalent to the ones found in the Disney parks in Florida and California in the U.S.A.
At the park you will also find one of Norway’s longest bobsleigh runs, a mine train, a western town and a traditional Norwegian farm. Facilities include plenty of places where you can buy food and drinks and also the park’s own camp site and hotel. A free shuttle bus to the park from Sandnes and Stavanger is available.
