Housed in a classic, 19th Century building in the Ribeira neighborhood of Natal, the Alberto Maranhao Theatre is the main theater of the capital city of Rio Grande do Norte State, and one of the best in all of Brazil. Having undergone a number of renovations since the original construction in 1898, the Theatre today has a capacity of 676 people, is air conditioned, and handicapped accessible.

The Alberto Maranhao Theatre plays host to a number of theatrical and musical concert productions, with a constantly evolving schedule. The Theatre is within easy walking distance of the Praca do Mercado, the Natal train station, and Praca Joao Camara.
