It is important not to confuse this airport with Kristiansand Airport, Kjevic, south Norway. Kristiansund Kvernberget Airport is situated 5km from the town centre of Kristiansund. It was opened in 1970 and caters to the country's northern district, namely the county More Og Romsdal. The terminal was updated in 2006 and has all modern facilities expected from an airport.
