One of the many landmarks that can be found when roaming around Kuala Lumpur is the Kuala Lumpur Tower or known officially as the Menara Kuala Lumpur (KL Tower). The tower stands at 421 meters including the antenna, and is known as the fifth tallest freestanding tower in the entire world. It was built in 1995, and has been used for communication purposes. At the top of the tower is a pod, with a roof that spans 335 meters in height. One may be able to go up and down the tower via the stairwell or the elevator.

On the pod on top of the tower is a revolving restaurant, which enables those who are dining to have a beautiful view of the city in a circle. Interestingly, there are races that are held inside the tower where participants race others up the stairs as to who reaches the top first. Plus, the tower also serves as the Islamic falak observatory where observers look for the crescent moon that marks the start of the Muslim month of Ramadhan, Zulhijjah, and Syawal.
