For 30 euros you can experience extreme roller coasters, or listen to traditional African or Mexican folk music and enjoy amazing Chinese architecture, all close to Germany’s capital. Visit the Baroque style Altes Rathaus in Marktplatz, the former town hall of Bonn, built in the 1730s, while Bonner Munster, built in the 11th century, is one of the oldest churches in Germany. Poppelsdorfer Schloss is a castle dating back to the 18th century and today belongs to Bonn University. Classical concerts take place under open sky during the summer. However, if you are not a fan of classical music you can visit the beautiful botanical garden located here. A nice place to visit in this district is Teegschwendner, with a great tea shop downstairs and a tearoom upstairs. One of the best deals in the area is Hotel Zur Post, a three-star family-run hotel with rooms ranging from 80 to 300 euros a night, only 500 meters from the railway station and close to Beethoven’s house.
