Kuwait Petroleum International is a petroleum company in Kuwait that refines and sells fuel and other petroleum products such as lubricants; it is often marketed and known as Q8. Supplying more than 4,000 retail outlets and service stations, the company also has direct sales operations for domestic and industrial users. Aside from lubricants, the company is also into retail service stations and aviation.

Oil was discovered in Kuwait in 1938 but it was not until 1980 that the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation was founded. The Q8 brand was marketed in 1986 and became an instant success – it quickly became a renowned brand so that even up to this day, it is considered to be a good example of good logo design with its colorful dhow.
