The La Crosse Municipal Airport is situated on 1380 acres of land about four miles northwest of the heart of La Crosse, Wisconsin. This public-use airport is serviced by Sun Country Airlines, Xtra Airways, Delta Air Lines, and American Airlines. These carriers provide regular service to such destinations as Minneapolis/St. Paul, Chicago-O'Hare, Laughlin, NV, and Elko, NV. One unusual aspect of the airport is that it can accommodate the Boeing 747 Air Force One, one of the world's largest aircraft used today. Over the past 20 years, the presidential plane has made a stop at this airport with every U.S. President. The airports three runways see an average of 125 flight operations per day, and the two-story passenger terminal provides such services as Avis and Hertz car rentals, passenger counters, meeting rooms, Vinney's Runway Restaurant, and an LSE Airport Gift Shop.
