The Lake Jackson Mounds Archaeological Site is the former ceremonial center of the Fort Walton Culture, a Native American culture known for its mound-building and agricultural practices. The site is managed by the Florida State Parks system and is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. Lake Jackson Mounds Archaeological Site is considered one of the most important sites of its kind in Florida and is located in northern Tallahassee. In addition to its rich historical and archaeological value, the park is also a site for hiking, picnicking and other recreational activities.

Park hours are open 8:00 a.m. to sunset and admission is free; however, there is a $3 fee for each vehicle entering the park. The site features six earthen temple mounds and guided tours of the grounds are available. For more information about the site, visit http://www.floridastateparks.org/.
