Built in 1908, Lakeside Amusement Park is the oldest amusement park in Colorado, and one of the oldest in the United States. Upon its opening in 1908, Lakeside was declared “the Coney Island of the West” by the Denver Post, with residents marveling at the 100,000 lights of the park. Located on Lake Rhonda, on the outskirts of Denver, today Lakeside Amusement Park boasts 40 rides, with 16 designed especially for small children.

Located at 4601 Sheridan Boulevard in Denver, Lakeside Amusement Park is within walking distance of Berkeley Park, Rocky Mountain Lake, and the campus of Regis University. The Park is open from May through September, and hours of operation are from noon until 10 P.M. most days, although checking the park website is advisable.
