Land Rover Arena

Land Rover Arena is a multipurpose sports facility located in Bologna, Italy. It was built in 1956and has experienced several reconstructions that increased the capacity to 5570 seats. Known as the Madison Square Azzaro and dedicated in 1996 to Joseph Dozza, the Mayor of Bologna who ordered the building is one of the temples of Italian basketball, built when the arena of the Sala Borsa, in the town center, turned out not best suited for basketball games.

Inaugurated on September 12, 1956 by international match Italy-Poland 70-54, it had hosted the races in both major city teams (Virtus and Fortitudo) until the late '90s, when first one then the other moved to PalaMalaguti (today Futurshow Station). From season 2005/2006 the hall has been sponsored by Land Rover and it has the naming rights too. With the recent restructuring of the plant, it was added above the floor the most futuristic and largest giant screen in Europe. It shows, during all the races, the statistics of the teams in the field and images of the same ones (projected into four screens), interspersed with various loosen advertising. The property also features a giant screen outside, projecting on the same square Azzarita, trailers on the events of PalaDozza interspersed with advertising.

The hall includes various facilities as: three Bar during the demonstrations, two socialization rooms, a meeting room, the Café Atlantic, a Travel Agency (within the structure), Galleria d'Arte "Space Off" and a Medical Center.
