The single oldest and largest theater in operation in the State of Missouri, the Landers Theater was built in Springfield in 1909, and have been in continuous use as a movie or stage theater ever since. The theater was designed in a French-influenced Neoclassical Style, and has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1977.

The façade of the theater combines Missouri limestone piers with terra cotta and brick, and the theater is framed almost entirely in wood. The Landers Theater has undergone multiple renovations, most notably in the wake of a fire in 1920, but has maintained the architectural style of the building. Today the theater is home to a number of stage theater troupes.

The Landers Theater is located at 311 E Walnut Street in downtown Springfield, Missouri. On-site parking is not available; however, there are a number of parking lots with a short distance of the theater. Ticket prices vary based on the show, and the box office is open from 9 A.M. until 5 P.M. Monday through Friday.
