The third district of Vienna is called Landstrase and contains the historic Landstrase and a few other suburbs. It is situated 1 kilometer to the east of the city centre. You can quickly get to Stephansplatz and Prater from here. St. Marxer Friedhof cemetery is situated in the district and it can be described as a Germanic Regency, or Biedermeier style cemetery. The most famous person buried here is Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Rabenhof is a residential attraction of the district, it has its own stage and hosts a subversive theatre for cabaret and comedians. Arsenal is a 19th century building housing an army history museum. Belvedere Palace and parks is the main attraction, as it houses the National Gallery of Austria. The spectacular Belvedere includes two Baroque mansions facing each other on two sides of a marvelous garden. The Marble Hall and the Mirror Hall are the most impressive parts of the building called Lower Belvedere. Upper Belvedere is a later built residence with a lavish Reception Hall. Kunstgalerie features a large collection of paintings by Gustav Klimt and Oskar Kokoschka among many others. Belvedere is surrounded by Baroque buildings, churches such as Gardenkirche and the Schwarzenberg Palace, which is also a hotel. Schwarzenbergplatz Square is famous for the Hochquellbrunnen Fountain, the Soviet War Memorial and the Schoenberg Centre, dedicated to the innovating composer. Rochuskirche Church is another Baroque church surrounded by a market. There are plenty of beautiful churches to visit in this district: Kirche St. Johann Nepomuk, Kirche St. Othmar, Kirche St. Rochus, Elisabethinenkirch, Salesianerkirche and Kirche zum Allerheiligsten Erloser. There are also some beautiful palaces like Palais Bourgoing, Palais Fanto, Palais Nassau, Palais Salm, Palais Windischgraetz, Palais Metternich, Palais Sternberg, Palais Hoyos, Palais Sylva-Tarouca. Palais Wittgenstein and Palais Rasumofsky are hidden somehow and although remarkable buildings may be more difficult to find. In contrast to these older buildings, there are Kunsthaus Wien, housing an art gallery, and Hundertwasserhaus Wien build in 1980s, popular among tourists due to their colorful facades.
