A popular stop for class trips, families with children, and the local teenagers, The Alexander Brest Planetarium offers a number of different shows during the daytime, as well as special events during the evening on weekends.

Part of Jacksonville's Museum of Science and History, the planetarium can comfortably seat 200, and offers state-of-the-art sound and visuals. The 60-foot dome-shaped projection screen was replaced in the 1990s, and the stereo surround sound makes presentations that much more exciting.

Located right in downtown Jacksonville, a number of hotels are a short walk from The Alexander Brest Planetarium, including The Crowne Plaza Jacksonville Riverfront, The Hampton Inn Jacksonville I-95 Central, and The Omni Hotel Jacksonville. Hours vary, but are usually tied to the program at The Museum of Science and History.
