Lappeenranta University of Technology (LUT) is situated in the town of Lappeenranta, in Finland and it is considered to be one of the most important ones in the country.
The Lappeenranta University of Technology (LUT) was founded in the year of 1969. The campus is places next of Lake Saimaa at a distance of approximately 8 km from the city centre. At first it was intended to build this university in Vyborg, but the town was taken over by The USSR. In the year of 1991 the Business Administration Faculty was opened, as part of the Lappeenranta University of Technology.
The University focuses on industrial technology, mainly forest and energy, information technology and, of course, economics. During the last ten years the University has known a great expansion, currently there are over 5000 students enlisted and over 950 employees at the university.
