The Alexandria Amtrak train station is located at 110 Callahan Drive, south of Washington, D.C. in the historic town of Alexandria, Virginia. Beginning in the 1840s, Alexandria started competing with other nearby cities in a race to link up to local, commercial centers. The station today is a regional transportation hub, connecting a number of bus and train lines. The original passenger terminal, which dates back to 1905, is still used today. An old brick building, it was built in the Federal Revival style.

The station hours (including ticketing hours) are Monday through Sunday, 6 am to 9 pm. There is assistance for checked baggage.
