The Alexandria Zoo in Egypt is the second largest of its kind in Egypt. It is one of the most popular sites in the city. It is located in the Smouha neighborhood in Alexandria. It is located in Ezbet Saad Square, Albert St, Alexnadria.

The Alexandria zoo is a place of leisure rather than a place for observation of live animals. Unlike the usual zoo the Alexandria Zoo gets you in touch with nature and slowly introduces you to the wild. The zoo has the largest collection fauna including those species that are currently classified as endangered.

The most popular tourist attractions are the elephants and lions. The other animal found in the zoo are the hippopotamus, Bengal tigers, leopards, striped hyenas, California Sealions, giraffes, zebras, nilgai, Scimitar Horned Oryx, polar bears, different species of apes and monkeys, and a host of other wild animals.

Also available for public viewing are reptiles, birds and small mammals that are housed in. Several endemic reptiles of Egypt like the Egyptian cobra, The Nile Crocodile, and the Egyptian Tortoise are also found in the zoo. Charges for entrance to these areas may vary.
