Directly across the Mississippi River from the famed French Quarter, Algiers Point refers to both a river bend of the Mississippi, and the surrounding neighborhood of New Orleans, Louisiana. The neighborhood, which was established in 1719, is preceded only by the French Quarter in terms of age in New Orleans, and is home to a number of buildings that predate the Civil War.

The neighborhood retains the feel of a much smaller community, largely due to the fact that it separated from the bustling French Quarter by the Mississippi, and has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1978. Algiers Point is within the 15th Ward of the City of New Orleans, and is comprised by approximately 50 city blocks, more or less bounded by the river, Opelousas Avenue to the south, and Atlantic Avenue to the east.

Algiers Point attractions include the Algiers Point Ferry Landing, Delcazal Park, The Opelousas Avenue Live Oaks, and the Reinke Shoe Company Building on Patterson Street.
