Alicante Airport is located 11 kilometers south of Alicante, Spain. It is the main airport for both the province of Alicante and the region of Murcia. This is why it is the busiest airport in Valencia. Ryanair operates here starting with 2007. Almost 10 million passengers travelled through this airport in 2008. Two terminals are are situated one next to the other and a third one is under construction. Taxis can take you to Alicante in 15-20 minutes right from in front of the arrivals hall. Every hour there is C6 public bus to the Alicante central bus station, it only costs 1.20 euros while the journey takes up to 40 minutes. Other buses travel to Benidorm and Murcia. Also in the arrivals area there is an office of the Valencia Tourism Agency. An exchange bureau, ATMs and a post office together with Internet access are offered in the airport. Several bars, gift and jewellery shops, duty free and other shops are other facilities offered. Although a VIP lounge is offering phone, fax, internet access and photocopying, there are no conference facilities. The closest hotel is the Holiday Inn Alicante Playa de San Juan, 5 kilometers from Alicante, while 5-star Sidi San Juan Hotel is situated at 15 kilometers away.
