Alkazar

Alkazar is multi-purpose stadium in Larissa, Greece. It is about 150 km south of Thessaloniki and 350 km north of Athens and is the largest city of Thessaly. The stadium is located just north of the city center. The Fortress Stadium was built in 1965 and is used mostly for football matches being the home stadium of AE Larisa. The publicly owned stadium, which has an athletic facility with eight lanes, was renovated in the summer of 2004, of the resurgence of the club. As part of this work, all standing room was converted into seats, and thus reduces the capacity of 18,000 seats to about 13,000 former. It has also been installed a new floodlights, interior renovation and open the main grandstand. The size of the pitch is 105 m × 68 m.
It is thought to be replaced by AEL Arena in 2009/2010.
