Allegheny Cemetery is one of Pittsburgh’s oldest and largest cemeteries and is located in the Lawrenceville neighborhood. 22 of Pittsburgh’s mayors are buried here on the 300 acre grounds amongst other notables including actress Lilian Russell Moore, composer Stephen Foster and Civil War hero General Alexander Hays.

The cemetery is an interesting historical site and has miles of paved walkways to stroll through. The grounds open every day at 7:00 a.m. and closing times vary from season to season.
