Alnwick Castle situated in Alnwick, Northumberland is the second largest inhabited castle in England, UK and the residence of the Duke of Northumberland, built following the Norman conquest, and renovated and remodeled a number of times. It is a Grade I listed building.

Initial parts of the castle were constructed by the Yves de Vescy, Baron of Alnwick in 1096; with a purpose to defend England's north-west border against Scottish invasions. With numerous renovations over the decades, Alnwick Castle has been the home of the Percys, Earls and Dukes of Northumberland for the past 700 years.

Consisting of two main chains of buildings, the Alnwick Castle also houses two parks and has often been graciously used by charitable organizations. A formal garden, known as the Alnwick Garden, has been setup around a cascading fountain adjacent to the castle. Presently the castle offers guided tours, children's activities, fine arts exhibitions and also picnic facilities. With this, the castle has become a perfect spot for the family and organizational day-outs.

Alnwick Castle has been used as sets for films and TV shows as well. The most well-known ones being the Harry Potter series, Elizabeth, and the Robin Hood series.
