Alor Setar was once known as Alor Star in 2004 to 2008. Being the capital state of Kedah, Malaysia and one of the oldest cities in the region, Alor Setar became the royal seat of the Kedah State and the Administrative Centre in the Kota Setar District. It became a hub for both agricultural and manufacturing products. Its urban population is more or less 300,000 residents.
