The Alpengarden Pforzheim is commercial nursery which has botanical garden specialized in alpine plants, located in Pforzheim, Germany.
100.000 plants from all mountains areas of the world can be found here. From late-April to mid-June is the main flowering period of this garden, when the rhododendrons and Alpine roses bloom. The sow facility “Alpine Garden” is no more operated. Visitors can see 200 square meters of garden plants. Small parts of the vision system are still on the surfaces of gardening and offer visitors inspiration for their own gardens. The total area of the alpine garden now contains over 2 hectares, of which about 1.5 ha is a show facility and the remaining part is used for culturing and propagating rare species of alpine plants.
The garden is daily open from eight to nineteen o’clock, from April to October. For admission, adults have to pay 2, 5 Euros but the groups of 10 peoples must pay 2, 2 Euros each and the groups bigger than 50 peoples must pay 2 Euros each. Guided tours are available just by apiontment.
The Alpine Garden is located at the entrance of Würm coming from Pforzheim. With public transport visitors must take bus 4 or 41 from Pforzheim main station to station "Alte Post" in Würm. The Alpengarden Pforzheim is at 7 km away from the motorway, 6 km away from the train station and 41 km away from the nearest airport.
