Alpenzoo Innsbruck

The Alpenzoo is a great zoo from Innsbruck, Austria.
Being located on the side of a small mountain, this is the highest zoo in the world at 727 meters above the sea level and it is specialized in alpine creatures. More than 2000 and 15 different species from the Alpine area are housed here.Here the visitors can see some of the rarest creatures in Europe, including bears and wolves. The zoo also has two species of European vultures and one of the species has been brought from the edge of extinction by the zoo. Here the animals are treated very well, proved by the fact that the zoo has animals that suite the environment which was based in. Tourists will love the vultures because they seem to love all the attention they are getting. In winter the atmosphere is amazing, the zoo giving a very realistic impression of wild, but is not recommended to visit it in summer when the temperature is higher than 35 degrees because the animals take shelter because of the heat. The zoo is opened whole year, everyday from nine to sixteen. The fee is 7,50 Euros but the entrance is free with a Insbruck Card.
Tourists have two options to reach the zoo: from the Hungerburgbahn funicular, or by shuttle bus from Maria-Theresian Strasse. Walking would be another option because the zoo is not to far from the city.
