Amagertorv is a street in Copenhagen, Denmark. It is located between Kongens Nytorv and City Hall Square, near the Royal Theater, in the main shopping street.
Amagertorv is a Danish word, which means peasants who were always there. In olden days, the peasants used to sell fishes and vegetables in the Copenhagen market, and hence the name Amagertorv. However, this is no longer a market place now.
